This week, Windermere have been learning all about food and nutrition with a focus on spaghetti bolognese. We started by looking at the 'farm to fork' process before moving onto learning about the different components of a bolognese dish where we taste tested a few different sauces - some nicer than others! We looked at the ingredients, the cooking and preparation techniques needed, the flavours as well as looking at different recipes and how to avoid cross contamination. After this, we practised chopping some celery and onion using the claw and bridge chopping techniques as well as grating carrots. 👩🍳🧑🍳🥕🧅🍝
