Class 6 - RE - creation/fall

Class: Miss A Pool - Buttermere Year: 2019 - 2020

We ended our creation topic this week by going back and exploring the big frieze. We normally look at this first and discuss key ideas but we left it to the end in year 3 & 4. The children identified lots of things related to the creation story on the frieze and worked in partners to identify them. Next we listened to the part in Genesis when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and were sent out of the garden of Eden. To help us with our bible journey we looked at the next frieze "the fall".
The children asked lots of questions about why Adam and Eve were falling down the waterfall, why was there a rainbow and what are those tablets/gravestones in the background?
One child identified the tablets as the 10 commandments while another said the rainbow could be to do with Noah. I was very impressed with their biblical knowledge and understanding.
