Author visit - Helen Haraldsen

On Friday year 3 & 4 had a visit from Helen Haraldsen, the author of Little Pearl. Helen use to be a pupil at St James and talked about the time she use to write stories and poems here. 
The children talked about what makes a good book; adventure, comedy, a good plot, fantasy and unicorns. Helen shared her favourite childhood stories and talked about why they were special to her. The children quickly picked up on the common theme 'animals'. We then watched a book trailer of Little pearl, one child said that it was touching. 
The children asked some great questions and were inspired to go on and write their own stories.
