Miss A Pool - Buttermere 2024 - 2025

Miss Pool

Welcome to Buttermere.

In Buttermere we have twenty-five energetic, enthusiastic and happy year 3/4 learners. They are a class full of personality and I am thoroughly enjoying my time with them as we move through the year.

This half term we are learning about Settlements in our Geography lessons, exploring the different types of settlements and the different uses of land within these. We will go for a walk around Whitehaven to look at the current and historic use of land. We are writing setting descriptions in our English lessons using the magical world of Charlie and the chocolate factory as our inspiration. Our maths lessons are moving on to focus on fractions and decimals. In P.E. we are completing a unit focusing on gymnastics, looking at completing different jumps, balances and sequences. Science will see us exploring sound, the ways we hear and the different pitch and volume of a variety of sounds.

Homework will be set on a Thursday and will need to be submitted by the following Thursday. Homework will mainly consist of reading regularly at home, learning weekly spellings and working on times table facts using a platform such as Times Table Rockstars.

Our P.E. day is Thursday and we expect children to come to school in their full P.E. kit for the entire day.

Regular photographs will be uploaded to Dojo so you can enjoy seeing what we are getting up to.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch. I am on the front yard most mornings and afternoons and I can be contacted via the Dojo app.
