Maya day - Making an Ancient Maya hot chocolate

Lesson: History

Class: Miss L Pool - Windermere Year: 2019 - 2020

Today we learnt about the history of chocolate and how the Maya civilisation influenced what we eat today. We looked at the journey of the cacao bean from bean to bar and how it was also mixed with spices to create a hot drink.  Cinnamon and chilli were used to create our spicy warming drinks and our cups were decorated with Mayan hieroglyphics.
