Gymnastics Sequences

Lesson: Physical education

Class: Mr Carruthers - Derwentwater Year: 2018 - 2019

In P.E., we've been learning gymnastic sequences.  We never knew there was so much to each sequence!  When you watch a professional do gymnastics, it looks effortless and so it's easy to miss all the different elements.

See if you can spot some of the many things we've been working on in our routines, from the photos below.

We have been developing: balance (tucked, wide, and long), mirroring (making a mirror image of your partner through the routine), front and back supports, symmetrical and asymmetrical balances, counter balances, and concentrating on movement with straight backs and pointy toes - to keep everything elegant.

Here are some photos, but we are still very much fine tuning the skills.
