Class 6 - Harvest lesson

Lesson: Religious education

Class: Church Links & RE Year: 2018 - 2019

On Friday, class 6 started to think about what is Harvest. We talked about what Harvest is, the children said ‘We celebrate the work of the farmers harvesting their crops and we give thanks for our food.’

We thought about God and how some Christians thank God for the food during harvest. One group of children said they were going to say a big thank you to whoever prepares their meals this weekend.

Finally we listened to one of Jesus’ parables, ‘The Widow’s Offering.’ The children learned it isn’t the size of the gift that matters. We then talked about the amazing work foodbank does to help people in need and how we can play a small part in that. Once again the children were very reflected and thinking of others.
