Class 2 - Painting The Heliocentric Solar System

Class: Mr Carruthers - Derwentwater Year: 2020 - 2021

We used our knowledge of the planets to paint a model of the Solar System.  We made them relative size but not to scale.  The Sun was at the centre of our solar system so Copernicus (the heliocentric dude) would be proud of our model and Ptolemy (the geocentric dude) would be aghast.  You can see there is a gap between the inner rocky planets and the gas giants in the outer solar system.

A great afternoon of art and science.
