Miss A Pool - Buttermere 2022 - 2023

Miss Pool

Welcome to Buttermere.

In Buttermere we have twenty-seven energetic, enthusiastic and happy year 3/4 learners. As we move into our second half term we are looking forward to Christmas and our nativity as well as lots of new learning.

We are writing to entertain in English with our work inspired by 'Ride of Passage'. We are focusing on our  writing to create a description of the jungle setting, looking at use of high level vocabulary and well developed sentences. Our maths lessons are based around multiplication and division focusing on developing our written methods and fast times table facts. This half term we are learning about the pre-historic times of the Bronze age and Iron Age in history, following on nicely from our work last half term to complete the three main areas of prehistory. In P.E. we are focusing on African Dance, learning and creating a dance inspired by African dance moves and music. Science is all about animals and thier habitats, focusing on the groups that scientists classfiy animals into and the similarities and differences between animals.

Homework will be set on a Friday and will need to be submitted by the following Friday. Links to all homework will be sent through Seesaw. Homework will include:

  • Atom Prime with a link sent via Seesaw
  • Reading at least three times a week
  • Learning weekly spellings on Spelling Shed
  • Times Table Rockstars

Our P.E. day is Monday and we expect children to come to school in their full P.E. kit for the entire day.

Regular photographs will be uploaded to this page so as you can enjoy seeing what we are getting up to. To view more than the three most recent galleries, click on, "View All Gallery Items."

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch. I am on the front yard most mornings and afternoons and I can be contacted via the Seesaw family app.
