Mr loud... the St James’ teacher

Lesson: English

Class: Mr Tyson - Ennerdale Year: 2020 - 2021

Our first English task in class five was to write our very own Mr Men/Little Miss story. As a class we wrote a story about Mr Loud, a teacher a St James'. The story was expertly illustrated by the class in the form of some freeze frames.

Mr Loud was very loud, in fact when he spoke his voice boomed out like a retro ghettoblaster! One day, Mr Loud spoke so loudly that the whole room shook. The windows began to crack and the lights started to fall from the ceiling. The children were terrified, they scattered around the room looking for a place to hide from the tumbling debris. This upset Mr Loud... he didn't like upsetting anyone. So Mr Loud decided to visit his good friend Little Miss Inventor to see if she could help. Little Miss Inventor has just the thing... a backwards microphone. The backwards microphone reduced the volume of someone's voice rather than amplify it. Mr Loud was pleased and he couldn't wait to try it out back in class. The next day, Mr Loud stood in front of his class and held out the backwards microphone. He hadn't explained to his class that it was a backwards microphone so naturally they braced themselves when they saw Mr Loud about to speak. Mr Loud addressed the class and the children were shocked yet delighted to hear Mr Loud talk at a normal volume. From that day on, Mr Loud always carried the backwards microphone with him wherever he went.
