Clay Buddha

Lesson: Religious education

Class: Church Links & RE Year: 2018 - 2019

On Monday, class 3 planned, designed and made a Buddha using clay. After exploring the special symbols associated with the Buddha, the children used the tools carefully to ensure their Buddha included these features. The children made a slip with the clay to 'glue' parts onto their sculpture. The bit the children found the trickiest was making sure the snails on top of Buddha's head were correct. The snails helped to protect Buddha's head while he was in the desert.

Next week we hope to paint our Buddha's.
